AMH and Al Baraka Islamic Bank sign Medical Ijara Deal

American Mission Hospital and Al Baraka Islamic Bank (AIB) have signed an agreement to provide medical Ijara financing for patients who need help with medical payments.

A signing ceremony was held on February 8, 2022, at Al Baraka headquarters attended by Mr. Tariq Kazim, Deputy CEO of Al Baraka Islamic Bank, and Ms. Julia M. Tovey, CEO of American Mission Hospital, along with senior officials from both organizations.

This medical-financing scheme offers low profit rates, over a maximum tenor of 3 years, to those wishing to ease their medical payments, for treatments and surgeries.

Mr. Tariq Mahmood Kazim, Deputy CEO of Al Baraka Islamic Bank said: “We are pleased to be partnering with American Mission Hospital as the first hospital on board with our newly launched medical Ijara financing scheme. We are also proud to be at the forefront within the banking industry to be offering such schemes, which help our customers meet their medical needs. This scheme comes as part of our continuous efforts to support patients, by simplifying the process of attaining services at top local medical centers within the Kingdom of Bahrain. We look forward to partnering with more hospitals and clinics within the Kingdom.”

During the event, Ms. Julia M. Tovey, Group CEO of American Mission Hospital said: “We are proud of this unique partnership with Al Baraka Islamic Bank. Healthcare support is essential for all. And Al Baraka's proactive medical-financing scheme, with AMH, will surely benefit many people in need, giving them mental peace".

“Like the bank, our hospital too has always been taking initiatives in organizing activities, independently and collaboratively, to serve the community”, she added.

The American Mission Hospital (AMH) is a private not-for-profit hospital located in Manama, Bahrain, with its branches in Saar, Amwaj Islands and Riffa. Another brand new state-of-the-art 120-bed futuristic multi-specialty hospital will be opened, in A’Ali, by the end of 2022.

Established in 1903 as the first modern hospital in Bahrain and across GCC, AMH has been serving the community of Bahrain, for almost 120 years.
